I am still hoping against hope of tracking down my camera. I lost this back in November in Limerick. It was left in a taxi and I'd like to think that the person who has it may do the right thing and return it. It was in a black camera bag along with a 18-55mm canon lens, a 55 - 250mm canon lens, mini tripod, leads, sd cards etc... The card would have been full of images of a band playing in a pub. I lost my Purse somewhere between Baggot Street and Parnell Street on Monday 13th November. There was no money in it but my driver's license & cards were inside. As I was walking home from work on Friday night, my GHD hairstraightener fell out of my bag close to the Samuel Beckett Bridge. It is an older model and used to fairly worthless to anybody else, however very expensive to replace. my bike (Town Cube) was stolen in front of Aldi Store, along Parnell Street, in the city center of Dublin, Ireland on 9 April 2013 between 12:00 - 1:00 pm. been on the shop for about 10-15 minutes and zap! bike was gone, locks cut, destroyed. reported the incident to the Garda, still waiting for response if they have checked the cctv w/ Aldi store for any clue, etc. i surmise the thieves are there all the time waiting for their victim. i wonder if the city could post notices on bike stands, rails like this: "BEWARE OF BIKE THEFT. LOCK YOUR BIKES AS SECURELY AS POSSIBLE." it sounds embarrassing but i gather bike thief is rampant in the city these days; i surf the web after this incident and noticed a lot of reports on bicycle theft, seems to happen everyday. the Garda told me they simply don't have the resources to prevent this, thus we should raise an awareness campaign for cyclists. if the city can post notices on the streets about bagging the pooh of dogs on the streets, why not about bicycle theft? we have a cycle to work campaign, now we have to protect the bikes, too.
I got on the bus at Dublin Airport on Saturday 13/04/13 at approximately 2pm. I placed my small black suitcase (cabin baggage) into the hold before getting on the bus. The first stop was Virginia (approx 3pm) where some passengers got off, the next stop was Cavan (approx 3.30pm) where I was getting off, only to realise that my suitcase was gone from the hold. At first I thought that someone had taken it by mistake but I took the driver's phone number and phoned him later in the evening and he said there was nothing left on the bus when all the passengers had got off in Donegal. I have been in contact with the Gardai at the Airport, Virginia and Cavan, but nothing has been found yet. I suspect that it was stolen somewhere along the way. Hey my backpack was stolen from bushes close to the Dublin Ferry Terminal 2 (Stena Lines). I dropped it there and hit it but somebody must have found it.
