Lost iPhone 8 Plus between Coppers and O'Connell Street

Friend lost his phone Saturday night (Sep 22.) He left Coppers around 2am and realised it was missing when he was on O'Connell street - could be anywhere around/between there. It's an iPhone 8 plus, silver/white. Can't remember the lockscreen but the screen will be covered in messages if still on. Has a clear case on the back of the case is this Polaroid picture of a brunette guy and blonde girl hugging. (Case may be removed and phone may be dead, but it's an iPhone 8 plus silver/white back and white front - please be on the lookout for anything that looks anything like that.) Any help AT ALL or any advice would be greatly appreciated - there's a lot of pictures on it that weren't backed up, and he's a college student hours from home and without a phone to contact anyone - so please please message me if you know what to do/been in a similar situation/even think you may have seen it.
