Left my iphone in taxi

I was in taxi and was slightly intoxicated. Didn’t have the fare on me. Told the taxi man to hold on to my phone, to give to garda station then I will pay my bill to them. Can you advise me what I’m to do next! I gave my imei to Garda. Please help I want my phone back.
